Rounding out our “weekend of theater” with @hellodollybway at @segerstromarts. This is a classic but it’s a play I’ve somehow never seen! The boys are off at winter camp so I surprised the girls with a weekend of theater. Little Women last night at a local high school. Be More Chill today at @broadwayontour. And Hello Dolly tonight at @segerstromarts “Skateboarding will be an inexpensive hobby for the boys,” . . .

So much fun watching my girls in Annie tonight. If you are local there are two more shows tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon. A few changes in the last 10 years: went from 2 to 4 kids, switched my hair to a middle part, and of course a divorce and a new relationship ... Sometimes you find friends you laugh with. You share the same brand of sarcasm and you cackle with each other until someone has to run to the bathroom. You mock as a love language. You talk in gifs. You giggle until your . . .
Jafta’s Birthday Adventure
Jafta spent his 14th birthday on a plane en route to Tokyo and it was the shortest birthday of his life . . . because of the time change and travel time, it was only his birthday for about 6 hours. Hopefully the fun we had in Tokyo made up for it, but his actual birthday was kind of a dud. So I promised him we would do something fun when we got back. I think there is no one harder to throw a party for than teenage boys. They are difficult to impress and finicky and even amongst a friend . . .

From New York to France to Spain to Tokyo, showing up to support @aus_rivers is a tough job but I do it out of the goodness of my heart. Now working on a list of new countries I’d like him to get gigs in where I can come “support” him more. Joined by by dad and his wife today, taking in the Imperial Palace and Zoji Shrine before my nephew’s show. ? ? ?? (This is my best emoji work yet) Why yes I did leave my children unattended at a stupid American fast-food joint while I walked across . . .
Holiday Fun
The kids and I had a great holiday season full of many of our favorite traditions. It's funny how much my kids have come to love traditions - I think they appreciate that while our family has changed, our holiday rhythms have not. We started by going to Winter Fest OC - a holiday extravaganza at the fairgrounds of Orange County. This was our third year going and we always have so much fun. There is sledding, fair rides, holiday lights and food . . . but my kids love the tents of snow play . . .

I brought my A game to the white elephant party. But India was the real winner. A Christmas joy trifecta last night ... @gungormusic followed by @johnnyswim followed by the @schittscreek Christmas special. ? ❤️ ? Our annual Buddy the Elf spaghetti bar ... These cuties caroled all over the neighborhood today. It was their idea and so fun watching the . . .

I've just given in on making them keep these around. The fun is in the process....and in eating it the second you're done I guess. You can dress them up.... It's adoption month and I thought it would be interesting to host a conversation with my boys to talk from their perspective as adoptees.
