First day back to school. I cannot believe I have THREE in high school this year and my youngest in middle school. All four are at the same school once again (it's a middle/high combo) and I love it. The boys had their first football game Friday night and Karis is decked out in her cheer skirt with India rocking her ASB shirt. A positive COVID case in our fully-vaccinated house
Welp, you can add our family to the list of cautionary tales about vaccinated people getting COVID. My son (Pfizered x2 since June 6) tested positive recently, after being exposed at a church camp. A couple anecdotal observations that support the data we're seeing about vaccines: 1. He had no symptoms at all. We only tested because others had tested positive. He felt perfectly fine. There was an outbreak of 20+ kids. Most of the unvaccinated kids were very sick. He caught it from an . . .

Gen Z fashion is a throwback delight. Straight out of the 90's all the way down to the cross-body bag, Clueless skirts, lace tights and waist-wrapped flannel. Just waiting for them to discover Rocket Dog Platform slides. Fifteen minutes after my "I need you to do anything but watch more tv" monologue. When you open up the attic of the home you owned for 20 years and find out that not one, but two of your bathrooms in your house have exhaust fan so that vent into....nothing. Just sucking . . .
Remembering Tremaine
A few weeks ago my family endured a terrible loss. If you've followed me for a long time, you've probably seen me post about my nephews. Before I had kids, they used to visit us in the summers. Now, they are grown men. Derek is married and he and his wife welcomed their 4th child this spring. A forth boy! His big brothers were so excited and the kids and I could not wait to meet him. Multiple-mimosa brunch with some of my favorites. Missed opportunity that none of us made a peace sign. I blame the mimosas. Our rental car got canceled for our whole trip (thanks @hertz!). We’ll make the best of it, we said. We’ll walk, we said! Cut to us getting caught in a massive thunderstorm 20 minutes from where we’re staying. We are now drowned rats with no car.
