Someone grabbed some “sunscreen” on the way out the door and applied it and fell asleep on the beach in the hot sun and is in a world of pain for the next couple of days. 😬
Yes, she chose to wear a power suit and heels to her elementary school graduation. And yes, she decided to play on the swingset one last time before we left. 😭❤️😭❤️

Today is my friend @rachelheldevans’s birthday. Her loss hits me in waves. In our friend group a tradition was to spam each other with wildly inappropriate memes and photos on each other’s birthday. Another friend in that circle was @matthewpaulturner, and today I received the children’s book that he finished that Rachel had started before her death. It’s such a beautiful book, full of messages of love and inclusion. Getting it today was poignant. I wish she were here and I was sending her dumb photos today.
