ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM MAY 2010. – We got to hang out with the Livesays this weekend. They live in Haiti and we’ve gotten to know them over the past few years, and we experienced the earthquake together. They’ve also become dear friends. The last time I saw Tara was during a tearful goodbye as her kids and I pulled away from the Haitian embassy in an airport-bound SUV. It was nice to hang out under less stressful circumstances. They are speaking at a . . .

We put two "sun tunnel" skylights in our hallway and I'm loving the results. It brightens things up so much. Our hallway was always so dark before. They are some work, but definitely a do-able DIY project. I want to put them everywhere now! https://amzn.to/39K0iGE Peak distance-learning fashion Bahaha you know it’s been a bad year when I revert to comfort-listening to old musicals, Vineyard music, and Indigo Girls. SOCIAL NETWORKING: SUCKING TIME, SAVING LIVES, AND THE GRAY IN-BETWEEN | On Thursday’s I Post From The Vault. This Post is From April 2010.
On Thursday's I Post From The Vault. This Post is From April 2010. I think it’s fair to say that many of us who write our own blogs also read a lot of blogs. We might also spend a fair amount of time on twitter. We might also waste a bit of time on facebook. And before we know it, we might find ourselves wondering how it got to be 1am and we still haven’t put the dinner dishes away. And by we, I mean me. I spend entirely too much time online. It’s what a call a neutral addiction. It’s . . .
RIP, MOUSE IN THE HOUSE | On Thursday’s I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From April 2010.
On Thursday's I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From April 2010. Last night we went to bed with a mouse precariously hanging from the shelf in the shower. We drifted off to peaceful sleep with the crack under the bathroom door barricaded by our two largest books (The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Unabridged, and The Holy Qur’an, With Translation and Commentary.) In the bathroom, we left behind the hanging mouse, a strategically placed piece of brie, and an electrical trap from Home . . .

We almost puked. but we didn’t. | On Thursday’s I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From April 2010.
On Thursday's I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From April 2010. I went to the mall with the kids yesterday. ALL FOUR KIDS. I'm sure that this is an indication of a very small and sheltered life, but achieving this? The feelings it inspired were similar to the feelings I had after running my first half-marathon. If I can do this, I can do anything! I didn't intend to take them to the mall. I had a small window with a babysitter. But let me explain small windows with babysitters. . . .

On Thursday's I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From April 2010. A couple weeks ago, I got the honor of becoming one of the first writers for the new Orange County Moms Group, a subsidiary of the regional mom bloggers group that started with the Silicone Valley Moms Group. It's a great roster of writers, and I'm really excited to be a part of it. My first post was selected for syndication and reprinted in several smaller papers throughout the country. Yeah for the Modest Bee! Today our . . .

Jamaican food in honor of our first Black/Jamaican/Indian/female Vice President. The future feels bright. At the last minute we decided to take our Black Lives Matter flag to the celebration today, which Kembe rigged up to a fishing pole. It was wild how much cheering and honking we heard today about that flag. I know that people were voting for the candidate but I can’t help feeling like this election was also about voting for inclusion and justice ... and in today’s celebration we all felt . . .
What Tara said | On Thursday’s I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From March 2010.
On Thursday's I Post From The Vault. This Post Is From March 2010. My friend Tara has been writing a detailed account of the days following the earthquake. I've been meaning to do this, too, in an attempt to process the whole event. I actually have little scraps of journal entries in word documents that I never posted because most of the time the internet was down. There was something therapeutic for me to sit and write things out, though, and I've yet to try to piece it together into . . .
