Jamaican food in honor of our first Black/Jamaican/Indian/female Vice President. The future feels bright.
At the last minute we decided to take our Black Lives Matter flag to the celebration today, which Kembe rigged up to a fishing pole. It was wild how much cheering and honking we heard today about that flag. I know that people were voting for the candidate but I can’t help feeling like this election was also about voting for inclusion and justice … and in today’s celebration we all felt that. #blacklivesmatter
Feels good to be pulling this out for a party in the street instead of a protest. 🇺🇸✊🏼✊🏾✊🏿🇺🇸
Hopeful.
We’ve got our dance music queued up and our celebratory drinks ready. Let’s gooooo!!!! #election2020

I just don’t know if I will ever get over people voting for him again en masse. I don’t know how to live in a country where this happens at such a large scale. Where I can’t expect that most people are decent. My belief that people are inherently good is shaken to the core.
