Bacterial infections can be nasty to battle even in the US. Could you please pray that the antibiotics work quickly, and that the infection will go away for good and not require any further intervention? He was admitted on Thursday, . . .

Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Life Lately

May 6, 2019

Karis came to me with an idea for her birthday cake. “Do you have a photo of what you want to do?” I asked. “No. It’s all in my head,” she said. Love her creativity! She totally pulled it off. And yes, matching her dress to the cake was ? intentional. I am gutted by the loss of my friend Rachel today. Rachel Held Evans is the smartest person I've ever met. I don't say that with an ounce of hyperbole or exaggeration. She was absolutely the most brilliant thinker I had the pleasure . . .

The woozy ultrasound || On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from February 2009.

April 25, 2019

On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from February 2009.  I am 32 weeks today. It's hard to believe I'm so close to meeting my baby girl. Then again, I feel like I have been pregnant forever and cannot believe it's possible I could get any MORE pregnant. I am huge. Really, huge. I get the pleasure of random people telling me that on a daily basis. "Wow, you look ready to pop!" I may pop the next person who tells me that. Today I had an ultrasound, for the sole purpose of . . .
