The perils of letting kids cook: @jaftahowerton executed a fantastic chicken marsala tonight. He also executed a slice out of his middle finger with the knife. ? Trying a new thing where I let the kids go through my cookbooks, choose a meal, and prepare it for the family one night of the week. Tonight is Karis’s night and she chose the chicken satay and sweet potato fries from @daniellewalker’s new cookbook and Kembe is free-styling some guac. . Real talk? It’s easier cooking without their . . .
On sexual satisfaction and the difference between men and women
I’ve partnered with the #righttodesire campaign to bring awareness to female Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder Over the past few months, I've been engaging in conversations around women and sexual desire. We've been particularly talking about the issue of low libido, which seems to be a very prevalent issue for women my age. I'm also noticing that women are dying to talk about this. Sarah and I announced we were doing an episode on low sexual desire and our podcast facebook community lit up . . .

On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from January 2009 India has this funny habit of adding in the prefix "a la" to certain words and phrases. Think ice cream a la mode, except that she uses it in contexts that make no sense. I think it's just a way for her to string words together that she can't fully pronounce, but the result is hilarious. It makes everything a little French and exotic. Some of my favorites: I'm ready a la go Winner a la Pooh Thumbs up . . .
Wednesday’s Child: Santiago and James

My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Always match your suspenders to your Vans ... 4, 3, 3, and 1. Don’t know how I survived that stage and yet I kinda miss it. #tbt . . .

um, oops || On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from January 2009.
On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from January 2009. Earlier this evening, a car alarm started going off on our street. This happens several times a week. For some reason, the multi-generational family across the street feels it necessary to protect their large fleet of mid-90's sedans with blaring sirens. 'Cause our suburb is so ghetto and all. I am ever annoyed by this and every time it happens, I feel like marching right over there and telling them to turn the alarm off . . .
