Growing up, we did the same thing every Christmas . . . we drove from Missouri to Florida to visit my grandparents, and we opened our gifts on Christmas morning. I remember having friends who attended midnight mass and opened their gifts on Christmas Eve. That blew my mind – how did Santa come if . . .

design dilemma: painting the piano
This week we officially moved into our new house. It’s been a rough go, though I supposed moving a family of 6 is never a smooth transition. We still have some work to do: we’re waiting on kitchen countertops so we are eating off paper plates and using a hot plate to cook, and there are boxes to unpack in every room. But we’re here. Now that we are in, I am second-guessing some of my painting intentions. When I do this, I tend to get caught in a web of indecision, and then I do nothing. . . .

A couple weeks ago I did a post of some gift ideas for kids. But I also wanted to do a fun list for the moms, sisters, and grandmas in our lives. Tazo fair-trade chocolates 3. Cinnamon Sticks hand-stamped custom stackable rings 4. Snapsac reusable shopping totes 5. Marie infinity scarf from Krochet Kids . . .
christmas babble
I’ve been musing about the holidays over at Babble, and thought I would share some links. First, I got a little nostalgic and shared My Favorite 80′s Holiday Movies from Childhood. One Magic Christmas, anyone? Anyone? I also shared My Top Ten Favorite Christmas Albums. (What are yours?) I also did an Awkward Family Photo Retrospective, sharing some of our best and worst family photos over the years, including this year’s family portrait. I just . . . I can’t even with this picture. I wrote . . .
