#TBT: the 15 steps of packing for a family vacation

April 28, 2016

On Thursdays I post from the vault. This is from Nov 2012  We are gearing up for our big Peru trip this weekend, and I’m a teensy bit stressed. The fact that I like to procrastinate doesn’t help matters, and I typically end up in a self-fueling loop of non-helpful avoidance behaviors any time I need to seriously pack for a big trip. Wednesday’s Child: Adrian

April 27, 2016

Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

A relaxing vacation with kids? Acheivement unlocked.

April 27, 2016

A couple weeks ago, I had the chance to visit the famed Hilton SanDestin resort on the northwestern shore of Florida. Confession: I grew up in Florida and have traveled very little in my home state. My family loves to travel, but we just did most of it in different states (or countries.) So I have explored very little of Florida. I’ve always heard how beautiful the beaches are in this part of Florida, so I jumped at the chance. Not to mention, beach vacations are my favorite kind. I decided . . .
