Wednesday’s Child: Marissa
Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

How to cultivate an appreciation for theater in young kids
Last week I took two of my kids on a trip that I've been waiting to do for years. We went to New York to see some broadway shows. I do a trip for each kid on their 10th birthday and India chose this. She's been dying to see a couple shows and also to visit the city. She knows I visit at least once a year and wanted to see what it is all about. (Kembe chose to visit Haiti for his 10 year trip, which we will be doing in May. Both kids opted to have a sibling along, which worked . . .
