Wednesday’s Child: Lillie
Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

Life Lately
Dropped my 13-year-old off this morning to head to a megachurch summer camp with her cousin. On the way, she informed me she'd packed her vintage "Legalize Gay" t-shirt to wear just to poke the bear a little. Also one entire side of her suitcase was full of candy because she contains multitudes. This kid had his first official day of work today, doing demo with a construction crew. He came home covered in drywall dust and said he worked his butt off, but had so much fun. I think . . .

ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM NOVEMBER 2011. We put up our Christmas tree yesterday, and officially broke out the Christmas music. I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas music. It makes me feel all warm and glow-y for about a week, and then I grow totally sick of it and don’t want to hear it again for another year. I think a part of this is the fact that, really, it’s pretty much the same 25-30 songs being recycled into different versions and . . .
