The point at which my head explodes | On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from September 2009. .

July 2, 2020

On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from September 2009. We just got word from Haiti - Mark and I need to appear IN PERSON to sign before a judge in order for our papers to move to the next stage. I'm not surprised by this - I've been hearing rumblings that it might happen for a few weeks. Haiti is notorious for inventing steps in their adoption process, especially when they get pressure from certain anti-adoption "charities" that I will not mention but rhyme with goonicef. . . .

Wednesday’s Child: Jalynn

July 1, 2020

Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

Life Lately

View this post on Instagram   Last night we held a “Pandemic Prom” for our senior who missed out on here this year. I used my @nuuly subscription this month to order a bunch of fancy dresses that the girls picked out. (I will talk more about that in my stories.) We ordered decor from Target and spent the day decorating. And of course it devolved into a giant balloon fight, and the boys mostly refused to dance (like a lot of . . .

Dispatches from the OC | On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from August 2009.

June 25, 2020

On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from August 2009. We are hanging in Seattle for a few days. As we venture away from our below Orange County, a few highlights: I had a garage sale this weekend. The tacky MILF maternity top that was sent to me for review? It was the FIRST THING THAT SOLD. I picked up a copy of a magazine called OC Health, thinking that it might have some info about 5k races in the area. Instead, it was a booklet full of ads for local . . .

The New “Mom Jean” | On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from August 2009.

June 18, 2020

On Thursdays I post from the vault. This post is from August 2009.   The New "Mom Jean" I went shopping for jeans the other day, and I'm still reeling by some uncomfortable revelations. My shopping quest started because I decided it was time to venture out from my hoodie-and-yoga-pants uniform that I wear pretty much every day. I decided it was time for a little self-care. I'm still young and hip, right? I need a young and hip outfit. I started my adventure . . .
