Touristing When you bought the citypass but they just want to skate under a bridge ... With three in high school next year I guess college tours are a part of our travel plans now. We tour City College SF and Berkeley today. They are both a ways outside of my “two hour radius from home” rule for college but I’m starting to get the feeling they are going to ignore me on that one. A mom can try ... It's launch day for my dear friend @jenhatmaker’s book Simple and Free. This book was . . .

ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM SEPTEMBER 2010. Jafta’s open house was tonight. As I approached the classroom, I noticed the teacher had posted pictures that each child made, along with their answer to the question, “What is your favorite part of kindergarten?” Jafta’s answer:“My favorite part of kindergarten is going to the cafeteria because I buy lunch.” . . .
Wednesday’s Child – Tayiana
Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM SEPTEMBER 2010. We are finally settling our accounts for all of the repairs that had to be made from The Great Flood and Exile of 2010 – which seems like a very dramatic description of a laundry load consisting of two towels. Life Lately
Jafta’s first year of football he broke his thumb in the second second and was out for the rest of the season. Then his sophomore year season was delayed and delayed. Finally this week, with lots of testing and protocols in place, they had their first of a shortened 5-game season. It was wild to be at a football game again. MOTHERHOOD PET PEEVES | ON THURSDAY’S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM SEPTEMBER 2010.
ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM SEPTEMBER 2010. This is a vent. This is purely a vent. Should you like to read about actual problems in the world, go here. But back to me and my astronomical issues. I HATE CHANGING THE CRIB SHEETS. I really do. Taking off the crib bumper, pulling out the mattress, the tucking, the climbing. I hate it. I rarely do it. I also hate applying emolient lotions. We have a lot of them in my house. Jafta has eczema, Kembe’s hair needs . . .
