Wednesday’s Child: Siblings want family that will keep them together

February 23, 2023

Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

Life Lately

MALINGERING | ON THURSDAY’S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM MAY 2011.

February 16, 2023

ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM MAY 2011. Today around 9am I got a call from Jafta’s school. It was the nurse – letting me know that Jafta was in her office complaining of a stomach ache.  Now, Jafta is prone to psychosomatic complaints and general dramatics, so I was a bit skeptical.  The nurse offered for me to talk to him myself.  In retrospect, this was probably not the best idea.  He told me his stomach was hurting really bad, and then I made another mistake – I . . .

I commented to Jafta that his camo suspenders looked a little redneck and his response was that he is trying to bring awarensss to the “black redneck community.” So there you have it. #blackhistorymonth#blackredneckawareness Taking my therapy notes in this notebook today. 😉 View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Kristen Howerton (@kristenhowerton) Love starting my year with these gals. . . .
