How my children’s school-related holiday activities have taken over and ruined Christmas

Wednesdy’s Child: Aaron & Andrew
Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more information and to . . .

The move was one of those things where we knew about it for a while, but couldn't really get moving until we sold our house. And once that happened, we had a quick 30 days to update the house we were moving into (which is the house we lived in when all four of the kids were born, and then rented out for a few years.) In that 30 days, we also had . . .

That’s What SHE Said: the dangers of driving tired, the culture of fashion, wordlwide xenophobia, and more….
Here are some of things I read this week that made me think. (These are just snippets – click on the title to read the whole thing). The Line Between a Safe Driver and a Dangerous One Is Just a Single Hour of Sleep from Cari at The Science of Us “According to one study, staying awake for 18 hours straight can cause the same cognitive impairment as a blood alcohol level of 0.05; at 24 hours, it’s closer to a blood alcohol level of 0.1, more than the legal limit for driving.” 9 Signs That You . . .

Yes, we moved. Again.
I haven’t necessarily been keeping it a secret. It’s just that I haven’t really taken the time to sit down and explain it. But if you follow me on instagram or facebook, I’m sure you’ve noted that we just moved again. And there have been a lot of questions as to why. I’m going to try to answer some of them, but there are other aspects of this decision that I’m not keen to put online. If you would like to hear more, I’d love you to subscribe to my newsletter. I will be writing more candidly there . . .
