ON THURSDAY'S I POST FROM THE VAULT. THIS POST IS FROM JUNE 2O11. Compassion International is behind a new campaign called Live58, aimed at uniting churches to eradicate poverty in the next century. I’m excited about it for several reasons. First, I’m a longtime fan of Compassion – we have been a part of their child sponsorship program for some time and have always loved the work they do. I also love the fact that they are calling on Christians to respond to poverty in a tangible way. I’m . . .
Every Wednesday I feature a child recently highlighted by a local Wednesday's Child newscast to share the stories of children from around the country who are waiting for a family. My hope is that this can broaden exposure for the children highlighted, but also serve as a reminder that these children represent thousands of children currently in the foster-care system. Perhaps their stories will inspire you to consider opening your home to a child needing a family. For more . . .

She immediately grabbed her bass and her art and craft supplies and settled in for a week of introverted bliss. The boys both had it in late summer with no symptoms at all. We are very fortunate to be able to play musical chairs to have this space for quarantining. The rest of us stayed in the . . .

In stories I’m sharing the KN95 masks we’ve been wearing, and also talked about the surge happening here in our community, which sparked a convo about COVID shame (especially for folks that have been really careful thus far and are catching it anyway.) It seemed to resonate with a lot of folks. Sharing some of those responses in my stories as well. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kristen Howerton . . .
