the twins

February 6, 2010

I was filling out some paperwork for these two – trying to get them on the waiting list for preschool next year. I was laughing about them having the same birthday, and how confusing it will be for the teacher, who sees two kids, born on the same day, and same last name . . . and then sees these two walk in together. Perhaps not what she will expect?

We are in the process of adopting siblings from Ethiopia. When we first started talking with our children about the adoption the first thing my 7 year old blond and blue eyed son said was, "I want a twin." Mind you, he knew what Ethiopians looked like. He was just elated at the idea of someone his same age who could be his "twin." Your opposite sex kids are an even better twin set than he would make with his brother! ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe they can star in a remake of the movie!

oh my gosh! They are so darn cute! They make great twins and I'm gonna guess the teacher might be slightly confused, but ya never know!

Its always funny here too. I have three 8 year olds who are none bio related to each other. I have two 6 year olds that are the same way. My two 4th graders are just 5 months apart. We always turn heads. We have 3 kids who are African American, 3 kids who are Caucasian, and 6 kids who are biracial Hispanic. The youngest of our kids is a beautiful Hispanic daughter who is 3 and has Down Syndrome. Everyone thinks she is Chinese and wonders when we got back from China. roflol We get questions about if they are "all yours". I just let them know that God gave us the rainbow and He builds rainbow families. I think your "twins" are gorgeous and you are very blessedd.

I taught for 10 years. And I rolled with lots of punches… but your twins would definitely make me blink. Just keeping it real. *grin*

Oh my gosh, I LOVE it!!!!! How funny is that going to be? I randomly found your blog and have loved reading about your family and getting updates on Ronel. Thank you for doing what you do! Your Christmas letter is A W E S O M E!!!!!! My husband and I have talked about adopting since before we got married. We have two of our own and are military so we are planning to wait until after our next move to get started on everything. Your blog gives my husband and I many many smiles!! Thank you!!!

Maybe you will be able to add "Are they twins?" to your list of annoying questions from strangers in Target.

They sure are a cute pair of virtual twins!

You should be there on the first day just to register the surprise and confusion that is sure to ensue. This should be hilarious!
