no news is no news

January 21, 2010

I’ve got nothing to report. Our amazingly dedicated contacts spent the entire day at the embassy with no progress. The embassy is processing the visas of the children who are in dire need first. As it should be. Our kids at Heartline are not in desperate need. They are fed and cared for, and by all reports are happy and oblivious to the chaos outside their gate. I rest in this knowledge as we wait. We are so thankful for your continued prayers and support.

    Kristen and Mark –
A "Pastor Brent" stopped by the clinic at about 9am yesterday (Wed.) — he asked to check on Kembert – he was nice enough but since he could not pronounce your last name right (or had it spelled wrong) — I decided to just assure him Kembert was fine and ask him not to take his truck of white people over to see Kembert — I hope you're okay with that. I don't know that dude from Adam but I did want you to know that he came by on your behalf — and Kembert is happy as a clam.

As you know, many people that you don't know are following your story and praying for you. Just wanted you to know that I am one of them. Stay strong!

Just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you too. We have friends who are in the same boat you are…word is they *might* get their kids next week, but you just hold your breath until it actually happens, right? Praying that all things will work out perfectly for you!

I prayed for you several times today. I prayed for Keanan and you and your husband and children- for your family to be brought together. I prayed for the orphans of Haiti… those who were already in orphanages, those who have families waiting for them, those who have become orphans because of this tragedy.
