First morning in Montgomery and I’ve already knocked out two of my most important travel rules: 1) if you are in the south and grit are on the menu, you must get them. 2) if you see a Waffle House, you must stop. Doesn’t hurt that they’ve got the gospel music on blast. ?

We had a two-hour power outrage during book club last night and had our discussion by candlelight. It was actually kind of awesome. We discussed the book Homegoing by Ya’a Gwayasi. Highly recommended.
