After I put India down for bed, the house was quiet. But then I heard a sudden scream from her room, and she started bawling. I rushed in to see what was wrong, and she told me she got a boo-boo on her tongue. I’m assuming she bit her tongue. She was really upset, and really crying. I tried to comfort her, but the way I usually assuage a boo-boo is to kiss it.
She hadn’t forgotten.
India came at me with her tongue sticking straight out of her mouth. “Kiss it, mommy, kiss it!”
And I did. I repressed my gag reflex and kissed her tongue. It had to be done.
Ewwwww. I’m so grossed out right now.

Oh mercy…that is funny. At least it was innocent. Haley has been trying to slip me the tongue recently. Seriously…my lips are off limits today. It’s bad. Sigh. Kids. Whadda ya do?
The things that moms do for their babies. Today I held my crying son while he was going #2. I just rubbed his back and said it’s ok baby. I hope we remember these things when they are way too cool for us!
