I made everyone dress up today. We set the table and used the fancy napkins. Everyone rolled their eyes at me at first but I think it helped ward off some of the weirdness of a holiday in quarantine. I’m sure we’ll be back in our pajamas in an hour but it was nice to have a change of pace this morning.
Starburst jellybeans are the best jellybeans. I rest my case.
Grocery shopping is hella stressful right now. We are trying to only go once a week but with 8 mouths to feed it’s hard to get it all right in one stop. I made two mistakes today: one, going on a Saturday before Easter. Should have planned that better and shopped earlier. Lines were insane. I drove by two stores first with lines out the door and ended up going to CVS and a spendy boutique grocer just to get us through the next few days. My second mistake was trying a respirator. I wore a mask last week and found it a little claustrophobic and suffocating. I found this respirator while cleaning out the garage, leftover from a construction project, and thought maybe it would be easier to breathe in. IT WAS NOT. I also just find the whole experience to be anxiety provoking. Nearly everyone in masks, rushing to get out. It feels very post-apocalyptic and not normal. I realized today that my kids haven’t been in a store in almost a month and I’m glad. I think there is something just existentially disconcerting about the whole experience. I got home, washed down everything, and then took a nap. Grocery shopping is not the worst aspect of this pandemic … but I really hate it.
Kembe has figured out a mask that avoids ANY negative stereotypes! Feeling great about this option. 😂
Happy national sibling day, @gbrookerodriguez and @brownjk20. When this mess is over, mandatory cousin hang on a beach with our collective 14 children. 😬

The shitty fake-meat of my childhood is providing more wisdom and leadership than the president of our country. I don’t know what’s going on anymore.
