Life Lately

February 15, 2021

We’ve decided to do more exploring of LA as we wait this pandemic out. (We have nothing else to do!) Last night we explored Echo Park … we did a food crawl (empanadas and taco trucks and farmers market snacks and açaí bowls and cinnamon buns) and we wandered into book stores and sneaker shops and cursed our luck at the thrift store closing just as we arrived. Then we hit up this little spot across town for the ‘gram. What neighborhood should we explore next?

India: Give me back those crutches! I found them!
Karis: But I am the one with a fake broken leg!

For several days my girls have been fighting over a pair of crutches they found. If they are left unattended, the other will steal them back, so they have even been bringing them to the dinner table.

Help.

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Nothing better than a used bookstore ….

Mullets are back, mom jeans are in, and now apparently the embarrassing windbreakers our dads wore in the 80s are “drip.” Just over here feeling old and confused.
