I’m proud of my nephew @Aus_Rivers in so many ways. He’s smart, thoughtful, hilarious, and insanely talented. But I’m especially proud of the new charity he founded . . . @knittherainbowinc. Austin learned there were a few nonprofits dedicated to providing services to LGBT youth facing houseing challenges in New York City. KtR hopes to educate people across the country about the housing crisis these youth are facing and increase the number of youth served by asking volunteers to knit or crochet weather-protective garments for KtR to be distributed in New York City KtR hopes to not only serve New York City, but to eventually provide winter protective garments to homeless LGBTQ+ youth across the country and to offer knit/crochet classes for shelter residents so they can knit garments for themselves and the rest of the community facing this housing crisis. The kids and I had the chance to stop by the @orangecountyblmpopup tent in Tustin today. Follow their Instagram to find locations.
