People love to say that racism has to be taught. I’m not so sure anymore. I think we are swimming in a racist environment and kids pick up on it because it’s all around us. One thing I do know: antiracism has to be taught. We need to be intentional. And it needs to be an ongoing dialogue.

Where have your kids been doing school? We’ve kind of spread all over the house and yard. I decided right at the beginning that bedrooms would not be schoolwork rooms and I think that has served us well. India and Kembe have loved working outside. We have finally found our rhythm with the distance learning thing … but we are all ready for the summer break! Three more week. *Excuse the bike graveyard.
