If you are local and have a birthday coming up, some of our high school’s band members are doing music for drive-by birthday parties. Swipe left for info.

Here’s how to make sure your kids are handy. Step 1: Buy some tool things. Step 2: When something breaks, act helpless and point to the tool things. It’s amazing what they will figure out when you avoid responsibility. This strategy is also helpful for tween and teen dilemmas such as “Mom, I’m hungry” or “My laundry basket is full” or “I need help with multifactorial equations.” You can use differential responses such as shrugging, blank stares, pointing to solutions or simply walking away. Order my book for more great parenting tips. 😉

Today I’m chatting with @LatashaMorrison, author of Be the Bridge, and a consultant for businesses and churches on inclusion and diversity. We each read a segment of our book and then have a conversation about race and revisionist history and Ahmaud Arbery and how to move from outrage to action. You can find Latasha’s book here: https://amzn.to/3fOz3v9. And Rage Against the Minivan here: https://biglink.to/RATM

I’m excited to announce the first interview in my author convo series launching Friday (tomorrow) at 10am . . . @latashamorrison. Latasha is the author of Be the Bridge, and a consultant for businesses and churches on inclusion and diversity. We each read a segment of our book and then have a conversation about race and revisionist history and Ahmaud Arbery and how to move from outrage to action. I think you will enjoy it! It will post tomorrow at 10am on my instagram and facebook channels.

With Karis‘s birthday falling right in the middle of quarantine, and slumber party plans being foiled, I wanted to give her a gift that was really meaningful. This is a wall hanging from @thenightskyio that shows a star map from the place and the night she was born. She really loved it!

“Oh hey. It’s just me, Kristen, awake at 8am like a normal person hoping you are doing well in these unprecedented times.”
