How to dye your own roots to cover gray at home

April 7, 2020

Alright, I’m doing my roots on the internet! Mortifying my children for your own edification. For anyone else with a half-inch of gray started to show through and needing a home fix, here’s how I do my own DIY hair salon in my house.

I used the following products:

  • Developer: Schwarzkopf Essensity Activating Lotion 8 Vol 2.5%
  • Color: Schwarzkopf Essensity Hair Color – 7-00 Medium Blonde Extra
  • Schwarzkopf Professional Essensity Hair Color, 8-14, Cendre Beige
  • Olaplex Salon into Kit for Professional Use
  • Dye Brush & Comb/Mixing Bowl
  • Redken Shades EQ Gloss 7V Crush Amethyst
  • Redken Shades EQ Gloss 8V Irid. Quartz
  • Redken Shades EQ Gloss Processing Solution
