This week I had the opportunity to have Horderly come out and help me organize my new pantry!
Over the past two years I’ve been going through a very slow remodel on my house, adding two extra bedrooms upstairs. The one thing I added to the downstairs was a pantry that is attached to the kitchen. It added some much-needed food storage space, but I never had the time to really organize it. Things got shoved in there, and it was disorganized and messy.
Horderly is a New York based company that recently launched in Southern California and their services are now offered directly from the Container Store In New York & SoCal. They sent a team of three serious magicians out to my house, who totally transformed the space.
The first step in the Horderly process is the edit. They pulled everything out of the pantry . . . EVERYTHING . . . and categorized things. I did not thing I would have that much stuff I needed to throw away. I WAS WRONG. We threw out expired foods, random containers, things I don’t use anymore . . . in all, I have five trashbags and a huge box to go to Goodwill.
From there, they start with a clean slate, and work their magic organizing and labeling everything into a sustainable system.
What I love about the systems they created is that they are realistic to keep up. There is a place for everything, and a label for everything. Both the kids and I know where everything goes, and everything is easy to find and easy to put back.
I am really so thrilled with the results, and I cannot express how much inner peace this transformed space gives me! To learn more about what Horderly does, check out their website here. And make sure to follow them on instagram – their account is seriously inspiring.
