We’re still hard at work on this rather challenging @playbill puzzle. India made me explain the meaning behind “the angry inch” but other than that just your typical Norman Rockwell evening. 😂

That time Karis had cradle cap and the do-rag seemed like the best way to keep the treatment on her head, so she was twinning with cousin @bigdaddyd_44. #TBT

The boys are back at it at @campnewheights – still missing them but loving the glimpses of what they are doing. One more week till they are home!

Visiting day at @campnewheights! They were excited to be reunited with their skateboards and phones (and mom? maybe?) One week down, one to go. I missed their faces.

I’m loving the photos of the boys’ first day at @campnewheights. They are working hard and playing hard, and getting a much-needed detox from their phones which is amazing and also I AM DYING TO TALK TO THEM.

Yesterday my boys settled in to their dorm rooms at UC Santa Barbara. They will be living like college students this week as they take part in @campnewheights’ elite athlete training track, learning from the best, playing basketball, surfing, and experiencing dorm life in a room with a view! I’m so excited for this experience for them, even though we are already missing them. This will be our longest time apart since either of them joined the family!

I managed to find myself at the fair twice today … first to see Karis sing with @corlivesand then later to see @ozomatli on the very same stage. I road bikes both times, once with Karis and then with a group of friends. I still hate the fair. But it was a good day. Full of music and laughter and fried foods.


We had a blast in Asheville for 24 hours. @holedoughnuts served up the best donut of my life, the @ashevilleretrocade did not disappoint, the @biltmoreestate was opulent whiplash after 4 days of camping, @malapropsbookstore was a book nerd paradise, we devoured pizza at @ashevillebrewingco and ice cream at @frenchbroadchocolate but the bonus was getting to hand with @robinplemmons and crew.

You might be wondering how I landed outside of Las Vegas while flying from South Carolina to Los Angeles. Turns out our trip home is becoming as adventurous* as our trip out. Another storm, another cancelled flight with no flights out until Wednesday, and so we rerouted to Vegas and are driving home from there. I really love/hate travel right now. *I may have used a different word in real life. #thefunstartshere

We should be pulling into #wildgoosefestival right now but interest we got stranded in Dallas last night after hours of hovering above a storm, then stayed in a roach motel, now flying to Columbia, SC from where we will driv 3 hours to NC. Hoping we will make in there in time for our Beer and Hymns session. Someone save me a beer (or 3). #wildgoose
