This post was sponsored by Invisalign. My nephew and mom are receiving complimentary Invisalign treatment as they share their Invisalign journey.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m excited to announce my partnership with Invisalign this year. In addition to sharing my mom’s journey, I’m also going to be documenting my nephew’s journey with Invisalign.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m excited to announce my partnership with Invisalign this year. In addition to sharing my mom’s journey, I’m also going to be documenting my nephew’s journey with Invisalign. For those of you who are not familiar with Invisalign Teen, it’s a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are used to gradually (and discreetly) straighten teeth. It works without the unsightly brackets or wires involved with traditional metal braces, but just as effectively. Invisalign Teen can address issues from mild crowding and gaps in teeth to more severe problems and it’s comparable in terms of outcome, length of treatment, and is more convenient than metal braces.
My 18-year-old nephew Austin is a sophomore at the Tisch School of Drama at NYU. He’s a musical theater major (and crazy talented!). Austin is sharing why he always wanted to fix his teeth:
One of my main barriers that has stopped me from fixing me teeth is career based. I am a training and working actor in NYC and before that I was a training and working actor in Central Florida, and in both places, it would have greatly hindered my ability to become cast in anything if I had bulky metal braces.
My top teeth look pretty good, but they cover my bottom overcrowded teeth when they are supposed to be lined up. This has caused me to smile in a way to only show my top teeth. When I was younger, I must have realized my teeth issues, since I only smiled showing my top teeth. So now, it’s my automatic response when someone asks me to take a photo. I would love to be able to smile in a more authentic way, showing all of my straight teeth. Ultimately, I would love for my bottom row of teeth to be straightened and I would love it if my teeth would line up with each other when they are closed.
I am very excited to get started with Invisalign treatment. This is an opportunity for me to finally have a beautiful smile and still work towards becoming an actor at the same time because the aligners are virtually invisible, and usually within a few months, patients see positive changes in their smile. I will be able to start going into auditions feeling confident about my teeth, which can only add to my confidence as a whole in auditions, and confidence in auditions means more jobs for me.
This process will definitely boost my confidence and I think it will open up the doors for more acting jobs for me. It will also probably help make my mouth healthier and cleaner because there are certain teeth that are really hard to clean due to the way they are positioned in my mouth. But overall, I would say confidence is the key to what I will gain from Invisalign and a more beautiful smile of course.
Since it is nearly undetectable, Invisalign Teen helps young adults feel good while straightening their teeth, giving them more confidence during social, educational and career-forwarding events. It’s a way for Austin to finally fix his teeth without calling attention to his treatment and continue his love for acting.
Over the next few months, I will be sharing both Austin and my mom’s journey with Invisalign. I can’t wait to see the final result!
