I will talk to them about the distortion of Christianity and how this exemplifies a dysfunctional relationship between some Christians and a political party that, as of late, does not look anything like Jesus. I will talk to them about the importance of placing their faith, and God’s love, above politics.
I will tell them that we have work to do. That the next four years is going to be challenging but that we will stand firm in our convictions to love well. We will talk about revolution and the people who have stood against evil in history. We will talk about how it’s time to roll up our sleeves and renew our commitments to be different than this elected leader.

How will you explain that you voted for someone that is either going to prison or will admit guilt by accepting a pardon?

Ugh… the most mind-numbingly smug and self-righteous ramblings I've ever endured. If only everyone was just so uniquely evolved and enlightened as you.
As a general litmus test to determine who is liberal and who is a mindless follower of liberalism, one only need to consider whether that person parrots the words of propagandists and liberal figures spoon-feeding ideas to those too unintelligent to think for themselves. Thankfully, when I hear phrases like "when they go low, you go high," "common sense gun restrictions," "undocumented immigrant," and "war on women," I am suddenly alerted to the fact that I'm not dealing with anybody who has formulated their belief systems through serious contemplation, but are instead mindless fools who run off emotions and rely upon others to spoon-feed them their beliefs.
As sad as these people are, most have the good sense to not pretentiously lecture others with regurgitated dogma they hope to pass-off as legitimate thought.
Sorry you are teaching your kids to hate and distrust most of us Trump supporters. If you only get news and opinions from sources you agree with, you will miss the good of the other side. No one is all good or all bad. I encourage you to find out more about our new president. You may find much agreement. If you continue to spread the hateful rhetoric, you encourage hate and bigotry. I am a retired military nurse, mother of four adult children, a grandmother, a Christian, and I supported Mr Trump. I do not share your opinions about our new president, his supporters, or my friends who voted for him. Please stop listening to the hateful speech from the news media, Internet, and blogs. Open you mind and be open to the possibility that President Trump may not be as bad as you fear. The millions of Americans who supported him are not the bad guys either.
